Ingredients

  • 1 ounce tequila
  • 1 ounce sweet vermouth
  • 1 ounce campari
  • 1 orange twist, for garnish
  • 1 cup ice

Cooking Instructions

Chill a martini glass and prep orange garnish by cutting a large coin-sized piece of orange skin from the fruit.

Measure and pour tequila, vermouth and Campari into mixing glass.

Add ice, stir 50-70 times & strain into a chilled glass.

Garnish with flamed twist. Don't fear the flame...

Practice it until you can pull it off. Flame goes in submissive hand, crosses the midline to the other side of the glass, and the dominant hand holds the half-dollar coin sized zest and squeezes (taco!) through the flame to the top if the drink. Then rim the glass, curve the twist artfully, and slip it into the drink with the zest side up (capsized canoe).

Enjoy!

For a mocktail substitute 2 ounces strongly brewed black tea in lieu of spirits, and 1/2 ounce of honey simple syrup (2 parts honey, 1 part hot water). All other instructions remain the same.
