Ingredients
- 14 ounce extra firm or firm tofu
- 4 tablespoons olive oil, divided
- to taste salt and pepper
- to taste lemon wedges
- to taste herbs of choice (chives, parsley, basil)
Cooking Instructions
1. Cut the tofu into flat rectangle slabs of about 2 inches thick, or 2" cubes and pat it dry with a paper towel.
2. Add the olive oil to a non-stick pan and add the tofu cubes. Season to taste with salt and pepper
3. Heat the sauté pan to medium-high. Add oil and sear 5 to 6 minutes until lightly browned on the bottom.
4. Flip the tofu. Return the heat to medium-high and cook an additional 4 to 5 minutes until browned.
5. Remove from heat, slice if needed and garnish with lemon juice and fresh herbs
